We can pray and honor our loved ones who have passed all year round.
This version of my Dia de los Muertos RosaLei is in honor of one of my favorite movies, "Coco."

The bright colors captures the festivity of the movie including the sweet hand painted sugar skulls and coffins from Peru.

The fun focal-piece is a beautiful antique bronze alloy zinc metal 47mm x 39mm butterfly. Did you know that in Mexico, the first monarch butterflies arrive for the winter each year on November 1st? Itʻs no coincidence that itʻs in accordance with Dia de los Muertos. The butterfly symbolizes transformation and it is also said that they carry the souls of the departed to their final destiny.

RosaLei features:

  • Hand knotted

  • Glass beads

  • Colored Howlite Turquoise Pater Beads

  • Three Goddess:
    • Virgin - White Faceted Agate
    • Mother - Black Coral Rose
    • Crone - Red hand painted sugar skull from Peru

  • Symbolism of the colored beads:
    • Purple - signifies pain, suffering, grief and mourning
    • Red - blood of life
    • Yellow - symbolizing marigolds that symbolize death and creates a trail of petals so the departed can make their way to their familyʻs altars or ofrendas.
    • Orange -sun
    • Pink - celebration
    • White - purity and hope
